Base File Fixer - notice =================== Base File Fixer (https://basefile-fixer.skillsafe.ai/) is a derived work of the agent skill @kepano/obsidian-bases, published in kepano/obsidian-skills: https://github.com/kepano/obsidian-skills (skills/obsidian-bases, SKILL.md at commit 9b736ba8da230341054cc668bedc0bcb041baa98, and references/FUNCTIONS_REFERENCE.md) Copyright (c) 2026 Steph Ango (@kepano), MIT License - full text in LICENSE-obsidian-skills.txt. What is derived from the skill: the rules the page checks and the model follows - the .base schema, the filter / formula / property model, the Duration rule (read .days before rounding), the missing-value guard for date(), the "every formula.X must be defined" rule, the YAML quoting rules and troubleshooting list - and the example bases the page's examples are modelled on. The page's YAML reader, expression parser, type checks and preview engine are new code written for this app. Other sources, checked on 2026-09-27: - Obsidian Help, Bases pages (syntax, functions, formulas, views and the layout pages), from the obsidianmd/obsidian-help repository at commit e23f4f92630df2081a7e3581bb3de6c8006ff713 (2026-05-14). The view types and the Obsidian versions they need (table and cards 1.9, list and map 1.10 - map with the separate Maps plugin -, kanban 1.14) come from the Views page. - Obsidian developer documentation, DurationValue (added in Obsidian 1.10.0): subtracting one date from another yields a Duration. Where the sources differ, and what the page does: - Date subtraction. The skill and the developer docs describe a Duration (with .days, .hours ...); the Help "Bases syntax" page still says subtracting dates gives the difference in milliseconds. The page follows the skill (Obsidian 1.10+). How .days rounds is not documented; the preview truncates toward zero and says so. - Kanban views (Obsidian 1.14) and the `sort:` key Obsidian writes for toolbar sorts are not in the skill; the page accepts both. - The official syntax example filters on "formula.ppu > 5" where ppu is built with toFixed(), which returns text. The page notes such text-versus-number comparisons as an info finding. - The preview has no plugins, reads dates without a time zone, and lists its other assumptions on the page ("How the preview differs from Obsidian"). Base File Fixer is an independent tool, not affiliated with or endorsed by Obsidian or Dynalist Inc. "Obsidian" and "Bases" are used only to name the app and the file format this page checks. No Obsidian code is included.
